@Justacarehomeg1 Paramedic, not nurse but always check my patient has dry pad and clothes and if not change to make sure comfortable and avoid creating unnecessary sores. Lack of personal basic care impacts a patient’s physical health and recovery. Surely that’s basics of any HCP
@wmasjamesd It is what it is. You have good days and bad days. One day I will get one in first time yet previously ED struggled 8 times and had ultrasound with, other days it’s obvious but still unsuccessful. Keep trying, it will come!
@NJL_Blancq First year I was in the back. Second year was a mix. Third year my mentor preferred me in the front as I could see the scene as we approached and be assessing safety, access and egress in case we needed to go quickly. Really helpful for outside incidents.
@emsemsr I’ve just finished year 3 and remember that feeling. My advice would be to try and relax as much as you can and where possible lead every job. It goes so fast so make sure you take some time for yourself when you can.
Been awhile since I’ve been training for SJA due to the amount of university work but great to be back as a demonstrator at the AFA course Day 1 in Derbyshire today and looking forward to Day 2. #mysjaday@stjohnambulance
@georgebellstarr I’ve taken advantage of my elective to do 2 weeks in a GP practice as feel it will be beneficial to a lot of calls we go to. Did a week in minors too as part of the hospital block and a week with mental health and dementia both of which were really useful.
Been waiting nearly 5 years for this. My Xmas present from 2018! But what an amazing show and well worth the wait! What a way to finish! Thank you for playing Your Song! #eltonfarewelltour
5 yo I passed my @stjohnambulance OFA. I progressed to youth leader at cadets and then advanced FA. Added on being unit logistics and later took over badger manager. Im now a student para due to qualify in 6 mths still in these roles and still remember where it started #mysjaday
Helping train days 1 and 2 of the OFA course at Derby for @stjohnambulance this weekend. Missed the fire works event to get some AFA hours in as didn’t get back in time but a positive weekend all the same. #mysjaday
5 years ago my @stjohnambulance journey started. I am now a youth unit manager, Advanced First Aider and demonstrator. SJA gave me the confidence to change career and do something I enjoy and can’t wait until next year when I pass my Paramedic BSc and wear the Paramedic Role bar
Very Proud Unit Manager having my badgers presented with their Bronze awards for the older ones and Welcome awards for the newer members. Thanks @SamPark77758145
Spent the afternoon for @stjohnambulance on first aid cover at Derby County. Very emotional at the minutes silence and the singing of the national anthem before kick off. A good win for DCFC. #mysjaday
Today marks the end of year 2 @dmuleicester as a Student Paramedic. Everything passed, now to enjoy 5 weeks off and a week in Crete next week with the kids before they go back to school. 😎
