Yesterday, Vancouver cops raided DULF & arrested two comrades for the heinous crime of saving lives. They won’t even let us try to save ourselves - they want us dead. https://t.co/rP1PrJagvS
About 200 people marched to Main & Hastings today to mark #IOAD. "This is where the drug war started," I said, "and this is where we're gonna end it." 📷@alexmdeboer
On this International #OverdoseAwarenessDay, I join countless others around the world grieving the unnecessary loss of life due to our prohibitionist policies.
The resulting unpredictable and potent drug supply, combined with our punishing policies, is to blame. #IOAD2023
There are many people close to my heart who use drugs, and so I will never stop fighting for justice for all #PWUD. However, relational connection or not, #PWUD have the right to safety, to love, to protection, to life. And so I fight for it all.

Can someone point out another area of medicine where you can tell me I have a ‘brain disease’ that can only be cured by a religious intervention and not have your medical license revoked
@peoplefirstrad CMHA’s $900,000 smoke site still has no heater & there is no access to a toilet! This makes NANDU’s much maligned, rudimentary $80,000 site more desirable! How slowly can Nanaimo respond to their Public Health Emergency due to drug poisoning?
@TweetsThatCare Appreciate your comments, they really show the complex, layered risks and harms youth face when we fail to provide safe enough harm reduction services
Let’s make a quick 🧵 of the many ways youth encounter risk & harm when we don’t provide youth specific harm reduction services:
- risk of OD
- risk of fatal OD
- exploitation
- physical violence

- gender based violence
- race based violence
This list could go on, feel free to continue adding to it.
Youth have and continue to use drugs and deserve to feel safe in doing so - they deserve youth specific #harmreduction spaces
Risks & harms encountered:
- increased risks of housing & food insecurity
- increased risk of child welfare involvement
- increased risk of hospitalization, criminalization
