@danidonovan Mine were all Encanto for a long time. Now they’re mainly Hamilton. Wonder if there’s something about Lin Manuel Miranda’s songs that appeals to ADHD folks (admittedly this is a very small sample size from which to draw that conclusion)
@CityofYork There’s an irony about this being posted on the same day as your World Mental Health day tweets. There’s a shocking lack of support for child mental health, just blaming parents. How is this being addressed, in practical terms?
@CityofYork And what is the practical support for the many families who want their child to be able to attend every day, but because of mental health or additional need, are struggling?
@CityofYork Scare tactics only add to the guilt and shame felt by parents whose children are struggling. We know this already. Is there a real analysis of the causes of low attendance in York? How much of it is really because parents need to be reminded?
@miss_perkins The Night Circus is one of my all-time faves! I recommend Victoria Schwab (esp, the Shades of Magic series). Probably lots more but I can’t think off the top of my head - maybe I’ll send a list in E’s book bag 😉
@Throctukes I think since always - we didn’t do it for GCSE at my school but did have to do RE. My brothers have half a GCSE in it. Not sure why - because government? Same reason they have to have a daily “broadly Christian” act of worship I guess…
@Throctukes It’s compulsory to do RE until 16 so I guess the thinking is you might as well get a GCSE out of it? It’s normally fairly balanced and interesting I think (though it’s been a while)
Nazanin knows that so many people are doing what they can to bring her home.
I've secured a Parliamentary debate exclusively on her case this Tuesday, which has cross-party support.
She will be watching and praying for something new from the Government. #FreeNazanin
