Your body doesn’t lie. It tells the truth long before your mind is willing to.
If you keep leaving the same situation feeling tense, anxious, or depleted, that’s not something to brush off. That’s a signal.
The mistake most people make is trying to justify it, telling themselves to toughen up or that it’s just part of the deal.
But ignoring those signals only leads to more stress, more resentment, more harm.
Here’s the challenge: this week, write down the spaces, people, or habits that consistently drain you. Then ask yourself honestly: What boundary needs to be set, or what do you need to step away from?
Clarity comes when you stop ignoring the evidence your body has been giving you all along.
NICE have released their updated guidance on Heart Failure (NG106), bringing key changes to improve care and outcomes for people living with HF, and support clinicians in delivering this care.
Find the guidance here: https://t.co/NYeIYR54H3
There are several positive developments in the guidance including:
1. NICE recognise and name HF pharmacists as core to HF team.
2. Four pillars HF therapy recommended for HFrEF and 4 pillars to be considered for HFmrEF patients. A stepwise approach is no longer required. Use the person's clinical status to decide how and when to optimise medicine doses
3. Two pillars recognised for HFpEF (MRA and SGLT2-)
4. ARNI can now be initiated in primary care (but GPs should consider seeking specialist HF advice first).
5. NICE recommends iv iron in HFrEF with iron deficiency (if Hb <150g/l, TSAT <20% OR ferritin <100ng/l).
This is a positive step in the right direction for heart failure care and treatment but we must continue to work together to advocate for further improvements and ensure heart failure becomes a national priority.

A final piece of advice from Holly Butcher - written the day before she passed away from cancer at just 27:
“It’s a strange thing knowing you’re going to die young.
At 26, I thought I had time…
To fall in love.
Start a family.
Grow old.
But cancer doesn’t care about plans.
Now, I understand how fragile life really is. Every single day is a gift, not a guarantee.
I’m not writing this to scare you. I’m writing to remind you: really live.
Stop stressing over little things. Be kind to your body- move it, nourish it, stop criticizing it. One day you’ll wish you had appreciated it.
Go outside.
Look at the sky.
Feel the sun.
Just be.
Spend less time chasing “stuff” - more time making memories. Don’t skip moments with people you love.
Laugh more.
Write a note.
Tell someone you love them.
Complain less.
Give more.
Helping others brings more joy than anything you can buy.
Be present.
Put your phone down.
Show up - really show up.
You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need a perfect body, or a perfect life.
Just follow what makes your heart light up. Say no to what drains you. Make changes when you need to.
And please - donate blood. I wouldn’t have had that extra year without it. And that year gave me memories I’ll hold close… forever.
Thank you for reading this.
Live your life well.
And maybe… we’ll meet again someday.”

These 10 criteria of “The Outstanding Leadership Model” also forms a predictive leadership index that we can measure using the Culture-Actualization Index.
As the saying goes, "people join organizations and leave their managers."
Words are a powerful thing that can shape views, perceptions, beliefs & expectations.
How we talk about patients can dehumanise them & impact how we see them.
Think about your words #PatientCare
It’s the new buzzword of team development but here is how to build psychological safety, and the hierarchy of needs that define the order of how #psychologicalsafety is built.
