Last week we welcomed Year 10 students from Thomas Hall School in Exeter to the LSI for a tour around the labs and a talk about working as a scientist. @LSI_Exeter@uniofexeHLS@Avantihall1
I had the opportunity to attend a fantastic workshop on career development for young scientists run by hpf consulting a few weeks back.
A great chance to practise interview technique, elevator pitches, and unpack core values to align to potential job roles.
Thoroughly enjoyed attending SWSBC earlier this week, where I excitingly won the prize for best talk (!!)
It was great meeting others in the structural biology field from the south west 👩🔬
Our MitoLuc methods paper is now out in press! 🥳
Thanks to co-authors @JamesLorriman @MitoPereira_GC@IanofBristol and @JMolBiol for a smooth publication process!
Just coming to the end of our 3 day Thesis Boot Camp with @DrPetaFreestone
Some much needed protected time away from distractions @EngineersHouse
So impressed with how super-focused everyone has been!
Had a fantastic few days at #ELRIG#RI2023 exploring the research and opportunities that exist in industry as I enter the final year of my PhD. I was delighted to win the prize for best ECP poster at the event!
#IWD2023@CourtneyLendon uses next generation microcrystal structural biology techniques to direct therapeutic development against an array of pathogens. Alongside her PhD she helps with teaching, organises seminars & PhD events in the LSI, & started the Biosciences running group
