Gearóid Ó Cairealláin, father of Móglái Bap passed away last night.
He was an Irish language revolutionary, community activist, loving father, husband and an inspiration to many.
We are heartbroken. 💔
Tonight's concert at the SSE arena will be the largest Irish language gig in the city's history.
Nothing would have made him prouder.
Tonight is for him.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Gearóid Ó Cairealláin, athair le Móglaí Bap, imithe ar shlí na fírinne aréir.
Ba Réabhlóidí teanga, gníomhaí pobail, athair grámhar, fear céile agus ionspioráid do chuid mhór daoine é.
Tá muid croíbhriste. 💔
Anocht ag Ionad SSE, beidh an cheolchoirm is mó Gaeilge riamh i stair na cathrach ann.
Níl rud ar bith eile a chuirfeadh an oiread céanna bróid air ná seo.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Can't remember why it didn't go ahead as planned in october, but "Pogrom Bhéal Feirste" is now scheduled to be broadcast on TG4 this day week, 4th December, at 9:30pm.
Delighted to speak at the inaugural @hea_irl#NSRP conference tomorrow, sharing experiences that @VDurrer and I have had co-leading the Youth Dance Matters project in collaboration w/ our wonderful youth dance partners. Excited to hear about other N/S projects @QUBResearchAHSS
"The history of collecting has sometimes been understood as the history of individual collectors. But collecting institutions (e.g., museums) are worthy of attention because they profoundly impact why we, as historians, look at some things and not others." https://t.co/DvmEJNZxul
Delighted to share that my new article is now out with Cultural and Social History! It asks what made a shrine legitimate in early modern Catholicism arguing for the vital role of emotional practices for establishing spiritual certainty.

Today is a special day! After five years of intensive research, our team of eight Rijksmuseum conservators started removing the varnish from Rembrandt's The Night Watch. This will enable us to preserve the painting for future generations. You can watch this process live, as the work is being conducted in the see-through glass chamber in the Night Watch Gallery of the Rijksmuseum.

Operation Night Watch is made possible by main partner AkzoNobel and the Rijksmuseum Fonds.
