Still going through a draft version of new #ncpol Helene relief bill that got leaked to us (it's 5 p.m. and lawmakers still haven't made it public yet, even though they plan to vote on it today) and am finding some more tidbits about the non-Helene-related changes
My pediatrics rotation ends this week and I’m so sad about that because I have loved it so much. Loving the specialty that you thought you wanted is so refreshing and affirming.
Some good news out of NC, at least, we not only beat Mark Robinson and Michele Morrow, we elected:
-(D) Josh Stein for Governor
-(D) Rachel Hunt for Lt. Governor
- (D) Jeff Jackson for At. General
-(D) Mo Green for Superintendent
-(D) Elaine Marshall for SOS
and we broke the supermajority!

No matter what happens, it saddens me deeply that rape, felonies, trying to overthrow our democracy, misogyny, racism and transphobia are somehow not deal breaks for 10’s of millions of Americans.
BREAKING: It appears North Carolina Democrats will break the GOP supermajority in the #ncga.
Unofficial results show incumbent Republican Ken Fontenot losing to Democrat Dante Pittman.
Huge win for Democrats and governor-elect Josh Stein. #ncpol
