Just over a week to go until opening night of Ulster American in @dlrMillTheatre! Really looking forward to sharing this play on the Dublin stage before taking it on the road around Ireland.

@culturaltutor East Wind Over Weehawken (1934) at 1001 Boulevard East at the corner of 49th Street in Weehawken, New Jersey. By Edward Hopper, it sold in 2013 for a record price. I like to walk past this house and think about this painting. Supposedly he considered this one of his best works.
@SmircleMc Thinking of you. The reality of these situations is much more emotionally complex than any adoption TV show can ever capture - it’s tough and gut wrenching and hard to ever understand or make peace with.
One of the best plays I’ve ever seen. A brilliant play, beautifully staged and acted - very easy to relate to the themes. I highly recommend catching it before it’s run @IrishRep ends on May 5 https://t.co/sA11eqq6FV
Final reading of Juggernaut (written by my Great Uncle David Sears!) is on this Saturday afternoon in St Enda's. Beautiful location and a really wonderful performance. ❤️🇮🇪
Real pleasure to join @davidstantontd at the Cobh & Harbour Chamber 2023 dinner this evening. A lovely occasion, great community and super organisation
“In 1992, Kris Kristofferson comforted Sinéad O'Connor when she was booed off the stage at a Bob Dylan anniversary concert. He later wrote this for her. May we all have her courage. May we all tell the truth.

"I'm singing this song for my sister Sinead
Concerning the god awful mess that she made
When she told them her truth just as hard as she could
Her message profoundly was misunderstood
There's humans entrusted with guarding our gold
And humans in charge of the saving of souls
And humans responded all over the world
Condemning that bald headed brave little girl
And maybe she's crazy and maybe she ain't
But so was Picasso and so were the saints
And she's never been partial to shackles or chains
She's too old for breaking and too young to tame
It's askin' for trouble to stick out your neck
In terms of a target a big silhouette
But some candles flicker and some candles fade
And some burn as true as my sister Sinead
And maybe she's crazy and maybe she ain't
But so was Picasso and so were the saints
And she's never been partial to shackles or chains
She's too old for breaking and too young to tame”

I don’t usually get personal on here but…🧵 My Dad is a refugee who made Ireland his home. He fled a repressive Czechoslovakia in 1967 at the age of 18. His older brother, Standa, had been imprisoned - for being gay they think - and was beaten to death in jail by guards...
Imagine that one of these beautiful children - all shot to death last night at Michigan State University - belonged to you.
As long as there are guns everywhere, our children aren’t safe anywhere.
