JUDGMENT ALERT:

We are pleased to announce the judgment of the Federal High Court, Abuja Judicial Division, in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/2787/2025: Tamunotonye Samuel Solomon Inioribo & 2 Ors v. INEC, wherein we acted as lead counsel for the Plaintiffs.

The Court held that the refusal of INEC to register the Citizens Democratic Alliance (CDA) as a political party was unlawful and procedurally defective, and further found that by operation of Section 75(4) of the Electoral Act 2022, the CDA is deemed registered following INEC’s failure to comply with the statutory timeline.

Accordingly, the Court granted all reliefs sought, including mandamus compelling INEC to issue a Certificate of Registration and awarded damages in the sum of ₦2,000,000.00 against the Commission.

We express confidence that the judgment of the Court will be duly respected and complied with in line with the rule of law.
