They start by learning how to stand, how to breathe, how to hold tension without forcing it.

You learn control before performance.
That sequencing matters more than people realize.

Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Emmanuel Oyeleke from Zen Archery. Emmanuel’s journey is truly remarkable. He began as a visual artist and, over the years, has carved out a place for himself in the world of archery.

Now the captain of Nigeria’s national archery team, Emmanuel has competed at the highest level, including at the African Archery Championship in South Africa, where his team took home the silver medal. He is also working hard to grow the sport here at home.

He founded Zen Archery to promote archery in Nigeria and support the next generation of athletes. I’m always encouraged when I see individuals like Emmanuel, who combine creativity, discipline, and vision to make a meaningful impact.

Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu today received Mr Emmanuel Oyeleke @EmmanuelOyeleK of Zen Archery, Lagos on a Courtesy Visit at the Lagos House, Marina.

Mr Emmanuel Oyeleke is a visual artist with over a decade experience and now an archer, he has rapidly moved up the ranks of archery to become the Nigerian National Archery Champion, and he currently leads the Nigerian Archery Team as its captain.

In 2022, he represented Nigeria at the 12th African Archery Championship in South Africa, where his team secured silver medals.

Emmanuel has founded Zen Archery in
2023, an organization focused on promotion of archery and developing the sport in Nigeria.
