@rollin_academic @TheNapMinistry Just received this as a Christmas gift! I'm excited to dive in and take its teachings with me into the new semester. I hope you enjoy it! π
@violetbfox A short video or a tutorial would be great! You could identify two books (one that is catalogued well vs one not) and then get your audience involved in searching the catalogue for those books. After, explain why they have very different search experiences thanks to the catalogue
@violetbfox It would be great to show how a correct well-done catalogue makes querying an OPAC and finding what you are looking for easier versus a patchy or poorly done one
@Literary_Jones My first assignment of the semester was writing a fake speech to the mayor and town council to convince them not to cut the library's budget.
Law of archival research: you will find out about the most important document for your research in the last fifteen minutes before the archive closes on the last day of your trip.
@JessPopp I've been eyeing this text (and the entire set!) for a while now. You've convinced me to take the leap. Looking forward to reading more of Kimmerer's work.
I've already encountered staffing shortages at @WesternU β MLIS Fall 2022 class registration was delayed because there were too few professors and too many classes. It's time for more full-time faculty. I stand behind @uwofa1 and hope they meet an agreement before the deadline.
Saddened to hear about the news of Scotty Creek Research Station. Instead of buying a coffee this morning, please consider donating to the GoFundMe to support the rebuild!
