@JocastaMoney@eyre_ann I reread Pride and Prejudice a lot. I’ve recently discovered a new podcast with Julie Andrews reading it, & it is a treat! Persuasion is very good and worth sticking with. The first time I read it, I found it slow at the start. Once I finished it I started it again right away!
@ZapPiglet@Cathal_Dennehy She’s still top of the 2025 performance list despite her sub par season. She’s worth 2-3 secs on any of the 3rd or 4th picks for the ladies’ relay team. She is the difference between being in contention for medals or not.
Hopefully she’ll come back stronger 🤞
“You have to think everyone is beatable and don’t give anyone too much respect.”
Sarah Healy recaps her 1500m at the Paris Diamond League, where she ran a personal best of 3:57.15 (previous mark was 3:57.46) 🇮🇪
The European indoor 3000m champion placed second behind Kenya’s Nelly Chepchirchir 🏃♀️

@DervalORourke@DavidGillick@RM_Heffernan Relays - how to balance individual performers, relays, mixed relays? One of our best performances was our women’s 4x400m heat - getting to the final without Adeleke was so important and impressive- we didn’t manage it in the mixed. Also how to get teams in all the relays?
Still not over some of these splits in the 4x400m final. 🥶
🇳🇱 Bol 48.62 (leg 4)
🇮🇪 Adeleke 48.92 (2)
🇬🇧 Anning 49.01 (4)
🇮🇪 Mawdsley 49.14 (4)
🇬🇧 Hudson-Smith 43.09 (leg 2)
🇧 Dobson 43.33 (4)
🇧🇪 D. Borlee 43.99 (4)
🇫🇷 Andant 44.13 (4)

How good was that run by the Irish 4x400m women?
That's the first time ever that a team has broken 3:20 and not won a medal in the event.
Their 3:19.90 would have been enough for silver in every Olympic final apart from 1988.
