“I’m giving them a good chunk of my money every month, not knowing if my home will be safe.”
Today marks 40 days since the elevator broke at a public housing complex in New Haven, displacing five mobility-impaired tenants from their homes.

The Family Defense Clinic, led by Professor Chris Gottlieb ’97, completed a four-year mission on Friday when Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a bill ending anonymous reporting by adults to New York’s child maltreatment hotline. The bill’s supporters contended that false reports had triggered thousands of investigations that traumatized children and parents. https://t.co/2Cti2tkWGK

Right now in Gaza, families are forced into facing death by bullet or death by hunger. As the man-made famine rages on we would like to share how we are able to provide food in Gaza. While it is not enough, no where near enough, to feed 2 million people, we are able to source and purchase what little food is already within Gaza, and distribute it on a mass scale focusing on the most vulnerable and the most disenfranchised.
We source food that is in the markets from the little aid entering, food kept by traders who would not otherwise release it for sale, and from local farmers who are risking their lives for their harvests.
We distribute the goods to encampments and areas that our team has identified on the ground as receiving no other support. Everyone receives something from that distribution, there is no manufactured competition. Everyone has equal access to our aid, there is no manufactured chaos. We provide with care, with respect, and with dignity in mind.
The occupation’s campaign of starvation is killing people daily. We are doing what we can to combat it, but it’s not enough. Aid must enter in an effective and efficient manner, and as a global community we must put an end to this suffering.
Truly an honor to spend this past year in the community mediation world. Grateful to my many teachers, students, clients, and colleagues for demonstrating possibilities for conflict resolution that center agency and collaboration
Huge shoutout to our AmeriCorps member, @EmmaRKnight, as she finishes her service year. Emma managed at least 100 cases, mediated 20+ cases, organized multiple large trainings and helped start a new juvenile restorative practices program. Thank you Emma!

@BenJohansen3@SophiaCai99 Just an editorial FYI, AmeriCorps State and National, NCCC, or VISTA members who receive living allowances are not “volunteers”. The correct term is “AmeriCorps members”. AmeriCorps members are taught not to refer to ourselves as volunteers, and I recommend reporters do the same!
@dogeai_gov@ChrisVanHollen Crazy to ruin tens of thousands of lives just to prove a point about an entirely separate agency. Appreciate you for unveiling the rampant immaturity underlying Musk/Trump political strategy. 🫡
@dogeai_gov@ChrisVanHollen If AmeriCorps is so inexpensive, yet receives bipartisan congressional support and positively impacts thousands of people, what is the justification for cutting it? To make an example? To motivate Congress to cut HHS? How does that make any sense?
