you know what? sometimes it's hard for me to communicate how i feel because i don't always understand why i feel the way i feel. i need someone who is patient enough to understand my silence, i just want someone to be there for me so i don't feel alone
Chronic illness would feel a lot easier if there wasn't a part of our souls that shouted at us about all the things we could have done if we'd been healthy. If that part wasn't there to keep reminding us about the things we've missed out on, it would hurt so much less.

Oh you have a chronic illness? Physical or mental? What's it called? How bad is it? Can't be that bad? What's the cure? Sleep more? Drink water? Exercise? Look on the bright side? Are you trying hard enough? But you went out yesterday? You look well? Stop thinking about it? Ok?
That chronically ill person you know has probably never answered a "how are you" honestly. They probably told you "it is what it is", laughed and trivialised their pain because their real answer was long, traumatising and intense and they didn't want to make you uncomfortable.
People with chronic illnesses will have stomach cramps, headaches, joint pain, muscle pain, fatigue, nausea, dizziness and more every single day... and still act completely normal in public. Remember you never know the pain someone may be in just by looking.
