This isn’t to diminish or write off those children. It’s to put in place appropriate support to try and prevent that actuality. A 15 year old who has slipped through the cracks of the system faces a much harder time trying to change their outcome than an 8yr old who’s caught.

Britain has produced a generation of thirty-year-olds who can't afford to move out, can't afford to have children, can't afford to get ill, and can't afford to stop.

They did everything they were told. School, university, the debt, the graduate scheme, the promotion that came with more responsibility and £200 a month.

The reward is a life where every month is spoken for before it starts, with nothing left over to build anything that might eventually get them out.

A million people didn't independently fail. This is what a decade of flat wages against climbing costs actually looks like.

One has to wonder why @PolitlcsUK are saying these untruths. The facts are these: a 16 or 17 year old working 35 hours at minimum wage gets £280 a week. The most anyone can get from PIP is £194.50 a week. What's more, people with PIP can also work as well, it is not an unemployment benefit. But the facts are clear: a teenager can earn £100 more than the maximum PIP - and the maximum PIP is given to VERY few people.
