The Department of Education is important.
Teachers are important.
Teachers unions are important.
We will not allow these out-of-touch, extremist Republicans to come after our children’s education.
I realized today that the plot of Office Space is basically a perfect analogy for the WGA/SAG strike. All the creatives want is a fraction of the pennies that go to their crappy, greedy bosses. And maybe a red stapler. Support the workers, mmkay?

@LAUSDSup - Unfortunately, I can't attend your town hall session this afternoon, but thank you for standing up for our LGBTQ+ students. Every child should feel safe and welcome at our public schools. Does the district have any plans to counter the hate targeting this community?
And for people thinking the anti-LGBT+ side is 'concerned' parents is chock full of Trump supporters. I overheard two people talking on that side talking about having brass knuckles, and there have been groups of anti-LGBT+ protesters circling the cops to start confrontations.
Anti-LGBT protestors attack Pro-LGBT demonstrators outside of a Glendale, CA schoolboard meeting.
The schoolboard is voting on recognizing June as Pride month.
@SenatorMenjivar - thank you so much for being there yesterday! It meant a lot to see so many faith leaders and political representatives there to stand up for LGBTQ+ students, families, and educators. Every family deserves to feel welcome and accepted in our public schools.
It’s 2023 & our children are still dealing with discrimination & hate. But at Saticoy Elementary the majority stood in support of LGBTQ+ folks & families. As the proud lesbian Latina serving #SFV, my goal is to increase recognition of our LGBTQ+ community. https://t.co/bpyTK3nxZz
Will @SpeakUpParents#SpeakUp about the LAUSD forcing mainstreaming on children with severe #SpecialEducation needs.

We showed up in peace at Saticoy Elementary to uplift our LGBTQ siblings. There is no indoctrination. We want all families to be included and celebrated. Some families have two Moms, two Dads, two parents or one parent. It’s really as simple as love is love.
No educator should have to go to work in fear.
We stand with LGBTQ+ educators and community members.
We demand LAUSD denounce these attacks on queer and trans educators and community members, and take swift action to protect its employees from harassment.
“It is unacceptable for writers to have their earnings decline, in some instances as much as 23%, inflation-adjusted, in the last ten years while studio, network, and streaming companies’ profits soar.” #WGAstrike
This is the beautiful book that caused so much hatred & controversy. This book that says, “Maybe one of these families will look like yours.” Watch this video. There is no sex. No indoctrination. Only love & letting every child know their family matters.

Another LAUSD parent who was there on the LGBTQ+ side. @latimes there are MANY families in LAUSD with LGBTQ+ parents. There are many elementary-age kids who identify as LGBTQ+. EVERY child and EVERY family who attends our schools deserves to celebrate their families & feel proud.
@banditelli@adamconover He is absolutely right that this action is for a lot more people in the industry than just the writers. This copywriter was there with you in solidarity for #WGAWest
@GOATpseudonym@LAUSDSup The math is 5 billion in reserve, 2 billion of which is necessary. The entire time my kids have been in school, LAUSD has said that they can't spend a cent of that money to pay adequate wages or invest in our kids. If not now, when?
As an LAUSD parent, I am outraged that @LAUSDSup did not show up for a single bargaining meeting in the last 10 months which could have averted this shutdown. I do not blame the people who support our kids every day for $25,000/yr.
