I finally achieved one of my little dietitian bucket list goals and got an article published with @CNmagazines this month!!! Now live online and in print for the April addition, I hope you find it beneficial 🫶🏼
📝 The BDA has joined the #PrescribingNow coalition in writing to @wesstreeting, calling for the new government to extend independent prescribing responsibilities. Write to your MP today and ask them to support the campaign ✍️ https://t.co/pLjiBMJKj2
Great to see @CCICPNHS@MidCheshireNHS dieticians sharing their knowledge today as part of dieticians week Thank you Nish and Sarah and to all our dieticians for the support to our patients
A beautiful start to 2024 ✨ NYD @parkrunUK and then a muddy 5K stomp around Delamere Forest with a few of my pals and best bud, Belle 🐾 One of my goals is to be more active on my socials this year and just romanticise life a little bit more, so here’s some stunning pics x
You CAN bolus feed into the jejunum.
"If patients can eat and drink regular diets early after stomach removal, all of which drops directly into their jejunum, why would jejunal feedings delivered at rates of 2-3mL/minute (120-150mL over an hour) be embarked upon with such caution (or not at all)?"
Thank you Carol Rees Parrish and colleague!! Couldn't have said it better myself!!
Can we please stop saying that people with jejunal feeding tubes can only manage 100ml/hr?!
Especially those on home tube feeding who prefer not to be hooked up to a pump on continuous feeds for 12-24 hours in a day!
Sometimes best practice guidelines, that have actually stemmed from expert opinion / consensus rather than actual evidence, really limit our ability to work WITH our tube fed clients and provide person-centered care.

Anthropometry is essential in any dietetic assessment to monitor outcomes. In liver disease, anthropometry can capture sarcopenia and malnutrition, which are strong predictors of mortality and morbidity in this cohort. Early identification is key!
This novel systematic review published in @jhndeditor examines the impact of blended diets, compared to commercial feeds, on gastrointestinal symptoms of adults and children who are tube-fed. https://t.co/bPmfQYC15C

@Wghs1911 So sad when I was told the news earlier today. I really struggled at school but she was one of the teachers who always made me smile and feel worthy. She was SO tolerant of our nonsense during AS/A2, especially our ‘great Bishop bake off’ revision games. A legend. RIP Jules 🩷
Join myself and @AnjaneeRd over on IG tomorrow at 7pm BST for Talkjng Tube Feeding’s first ever Instagram live! ✨ We’ll be chatting blended diets, practicalities of tube feeding, working out nutritional requirements AND a live cook a long 👇🏼 #WhatDietitiansDo

Dear 🇬🇧,
Just finished a night shift in A&E and feeling wrecked. If you have a job that has a "going home checklist" like this, you deserve better pay and conditions. Full stop.
