Devastated.
A student describes how it felt hearing the campus is set to close.
A large proportion of Essex's Southend students are local.
Closing it strips opportunity out of the community/
“Slashing the staff body like this is nothing short of academic vandalism.” @DrJoGrady

Our Trustee Professor Emma Short and her daughter Eve are running the Southwold half-Marathon on March 1st to raise £1,500 — enough to train one new Independent Stalking Advocate. You can make a donation to show your support: https://t.co/KieG0ZxiZn
120 job cuts (including mine) announced by @LondonMetUni - decimating whole departments, a serious attack on working class education by an institution that claims to value "social justice".

Grateful for @hmcpsi's response to recommendations in my London Stalking Review, including assessing cases that were sent to the @CPSUK. I am delighted that they have now announced a full thematic investigation into the CPS' handling of stalking in 2025. My full statement:
Completely agree a great collection from @Baddiel with all the best ingredients , family, truth and the irritations of life, deftly sliding between laughter and pathos.. and all the while like having a friend in the room.
Just seen the 3 episodes of David @Baddiel's One-Man Shows that start airing this Saturday on Sky, and I can loudly state he is back to his best.
Absolutely hillarious. Great work David. Thank you.

Inspiring to be at the @acr_trust conference today, bringing together victims, practitioners and academics to share good practice across the country.
I spoke of our work to implement the recommendations from the London Stalking Review, crucial if Govt is to halve VAWG
Discussing #cyberstalking at @ACR_Trust conference. Perps will take the “path of least resistance” still, so often it’s basic cyber #stalking ie using #socialmedia@HelplineCyber. We’re lucky to partner with the Cyber Helpline to provide extra support to our clients.. ARTCONF24
Two incredibly interesting discussion groups happening now. One is discussing ‘the power of the victims' voice’ and the other discussing ‘the new frontiers of cyberstalking’

@ScotlandYardCSI It’s a fascinating story with 3 very different women at its core, all unusual for their time. That’s a good connection to make! I might watch it again 😊
@ScotlandYardCSI This is just speculation, but it’s likely the motivation of the letter writer was quite different. A need express anger & fragile superiority, which was stifled by an abusive family and society at the time. Her letters and the distress they caused made her feel powerful & heard
@ScotlandYardCSI There is a small but increasing amount published about the psychological motivations behind catfishing, ranging from financial gain or deliberate harassment to experimentation with emulating an ideal self and having a meaningful emotional interaction otherwise absent in life.
