Does anyone else remember Argentina vs Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup?
Because I still haven't forgotten what happened that night.
Messi gave Argentina the lead early, Victor Moses equalised from the penalty spot, and Nigeria were on the verge of reaching the knockout stage.
Then came the moment that still leaves a bitter taste...
Marcos Rojo clearly handled the ball inside the box.
The referee, Cüneyt Çakır, went to VAR, reviewed the incident... and somehow decided it wasn't a penalty.
Even John Obi Mikel confronted him afterwards, and, according to Mikel, the referee admitted the ball had hit Rojo's hand but simply said he didn't know why VAR told him not to award the penalty.
Minutes later...
Rojo scored the winner that sent Argentina through and knocked Nigeria out.
One of the most controversial World Cup refereeing decisions involving Nigeria...
Yet somehow, we hardly ever talk about it.
Does anyone else still remember that robbery? 🇳🇬💔
“We have a civic responsibility as responsible citizens of our various nations. So, endeavor to secure your Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC). You are men and women of the Spirit. By your own personal conviction, you should know when and where to cast your vote.”
—Bishop David Oyedepo today encouraged members of his church to obtain their PVCs and participate in the electoral process.
"If he wants to debate me now, inviting me as a presidential candidate, he should first become a presidential candidate. The World Cup is ongoing—you can't be outside the tournament inviting countries that qualified to come and play with you, is like someone who's in division one, asking a premier League team for match."
—NDC presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi replies to Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, over his debate challenge.
"Akara is delicious. I once read about a graduate who started selling akara because he couldn't get a job in Abuja. We supported him, and today he has 12 employees and is doing very well. We want to see Nigerian celebrities come together under one foundation to help the poor because the government has a lot of burdens."
— First Lady Oluremi Tinubu
See what Americans know about us.
How on earth would a Daddy GO and Professor Wole Soyinka pretend this is not us, Allowing one man make the world see us as criminals ?
Did you see how surprised the interviewer was ?
He even shouted "Oh Lord"
Dear @mehdirhasan
This lying double-mouthed dishonest aide called Daniel Bwala that you publicly exposed his hypocrisy to the world a few months ago, now claims Al Jazeera “apologised” to him over your interview with him.
Please is this claim true?
And if true, what exactly did Al Jazeera apologise to him for?
Dear Nigerians,
Pls retweet until @mehdirhasan sees this and publicly responds to clear the air.
@aonanuga1956 I know you will come up with lies to counter the truth Peter Obi granted at the interview with Chude. However, my only prayer is that may God Almighty deliver Nigerians from this demonic and evil man who is worse than Pharaoh.. Amen 🙏
