For #EarthDay2024 we produced an episode of @ImaginWorldsPod about how African science fiction writers are imagining the future of climate change in a way that's very different from Western cli-fi. https://t.co/VtvhKQ06wI

@MoRocca I loved your episode Death of an Accent. My grandmother spoke like that her entire life. She'd rave over a mahvelous mahtini. They were Jews from Brookline with economic struggles, not Boston Brahmins. But they aspired to be highly cultured, and they had great taste.
I grew up in Boston, saw The Big Dig firsthand, and always had a fascination with local politics as a very nerdy kid. But this is still a terrific podcast I cannot recommend enough about how the road to hell can be literally paved with good intensions. https://t.co/FuZngs46N8
"In practical terms, 'content creator' neatly accomplishes two things at once: It lets people who make garbage think they’re making art, and tells people who make art that they’re making garbage." https://t.co/Z9rCcpjhdG
As the always insightful James Whitbrook points out, there is a compelling broader story being told in Andor, Mando season 3 and Ahsoka about the fragility of democracy that is more relevant (and depressing) than ever.
I saw Barbie this weekend and realized for the last 34 years, I thought the song was called Closer to Find. I never did ask myself what they were closer to finding.
@meganleetan I’m so sorry! This is such a brutal time in the industry. They’re not just jobs, people put their heart and soul into these shows, and build real relationships with their audiences. And this job was even more personal for you! I hope you find something great again soon.
@annheppermann I’ve been feeling that way for a while but especially this year, and this week, when the industry is in so much turmoil. It would be nice to look forward to a time we could all get together and kibbutz.
The final season of #MrsMaisel was so satisfying, and didn’t play it safe with the flash forwards all the way up to 2005 (!). Now I keep wondering whether Midge did SNL, a guest spot in a Muppet movie, hosted the Emmys, and most importantly, did she do WNYC pledge drives?
