Within hours, this is what Gazans did to the synagogues they left behind.

Mahmoud Abbas had pledged to protect the sites. In a shock to no one, his actions did not match his words.

And Hamas? They made sure to hold celebratory prayers inside first — a clear display of dominance — before the destruction and torching began.

Israel’s intentions were pure, but unilateral concessions without a reliable partner for peace proved disastrous and culminated with the October 7 Massacre.

Since Oct 7th, you’ve allowed anti-Israel, anti-Zionist, anti-Jew protests, on the streets of your cities.

They started calling for “ceasefire”. You figured that was OK.

They escalated to saying “Free Palestine” and “From the River to The Sea”, a call to destroy Israel. You pretended you didn’t know the true meaning, and said that was OK.

They started to call themselves “anti-Zionists”, and you tried to make people believe you didn’t know that really meant “anti-Jew”, and this too, you said was OK.

They yell on the streets for “intifada”, a global uprising against Jews. With this, you too, were OK.

You didn’t stop them. You didn’t enforce sections 318 and 319 of the Criminal Code of Canada, which prohibits against this type of speech.
What did you do instead?

Refuse to condemn antisemitism on college and university campuses.

Call for Israelis to be arrested for “war crimes”.

Continue to call for a “ceasefire”

Instead of stopping the hate, you emboldened it. Instead of enforcing the law, you turned the other way.

And what did these inactions by our governments enable to happen on Canadian soil?

An increase in the number of protests across our country.

An 11-year old Jewish child being bullied, threatened and attacked on the way to school and at school.

A female Jewish high school student being physically assaulted.

Shootings at Jewish schools.

Vandalism of multiple synagogues, including a fire-bombing.

Shootings of synagogues.

Visible Jews being shot at with a pellet gun.

Protests at grocery stores, with people walking through the stores saying “Is this the non-genocidal water?”

The vandalism of offices of elected officials, who are Jewish or support Israel.

Death threats to Canadians who support Israel.

I’ve posted before, asking what your magic number is – how many Jews have to lose their lives before you will step up and do what needs to be done to protect our communities. I’ve received radio silence.

What’s your red line?

And if it hasn’t been crossed yet, what will it take?

At what point will you start dealing with the threat, not only to your Jewish communities, but to the existence of your country?

The murderer in Montreal has been named: Seth Hatfield, from Alberta. He murdered a policeman in a shooting spree in a Jewish neighbourhood in Montreal.

Soon afterwards, government journalists at the CBC and elsewhere started describing a manifesto that he had left behind. But none of them published the actual document — they just quoted the odd phrase from it, and called him an “incel”. That’s a term for someone who was “involuntarily celibate”, or someone who didn’t do well with women. The usual suspects were doing the media circuit claiming that Hatfield was a “right wing” extremist.

But if that was true, why was the manifesto being shown only to selected, government-friendly journalists? Why were the rest of us blocked from seeing it for ourselves?

It’s true that the murderer had extreme ideas about women. But that was only a small part of his world view. In most of the rest of his rambling remarks, he was indistinguishable from left-wing politicians like Bernie Sanders, Avi Lewis, or half the Liberal cabinet.

He praised Communism. He called for the abolition of private property. He railed against the Jews, and Zionism. And — like Mark Carney himself — he demanded the censorship of the Internet.
