@svpino You do not need to read the book because if you do you would realise that the film is a laughable parody of the book. The pseudo-Odyssey of Nolan has nothing to do with Homer's Odyssey.
@MMike218@MarioNawfal "Historically accurate" in the sense that it is presenting accurately the Homeric poem. Nolan's film has many incosistencies with the Odyssey of Homer.
@HistoryBoomer The ojection is that Helen is specifically described by Homer that was "λευκωλενος" (=had white arms). Ergo, in order to be consistent to Homer, the actress should be a white woman. That has nothing to do with racism or the like but the need the film be faithfull to Homer.
@Coachkcrypto The fact is that the film has nothing to do with Homer's Odyssey and Nolan exploits this just to increase his revenues. People who are fascinated with it is those who do not have any previous exposure to Homer's Odyssey. Theu just watch a fairy-tale. 3/X
@Coachkcrypto Instead of being honest and title his film differently (as in Troy where in the credits page at the end of the movie the producers had added the "Inspired by Homer's Iliad") he titles it "Odyssey" to lure the audience that what they are going to see is the real Odyssey 2/
@Coachkcrypto The issue is not if Homer's Odyssey episodes are true or fictional but the fact that Nolan does not present these episodes as they are narrated in the poem giving a distorted view of them. 1/
@GregKafetzo@PapaefthymiouT Από αισθητική σκίζεις!
.... 1/
@Ramble86@lilbitssssss@Sb_Fwitz And since you mentioned Lupita (I didn't) it's more than clear that she is the most laughable stock in Nolan's film.
She personally admitted that she didn't know what the heck was her role, when asked she couln't mention a character in the film and she dared to lecture Homer!
