The Digital Storytelling for Ethical Technology and Intergenerational Collaboration Capacity-Building Workshop began with an inspiring session led by Prof. Saudat Salah, Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences at the University of Ilorin, on Media Evolution: Life Before the Digital Era. Participants explored how communities shared information before smartphones and the internet, from letters and postcards to town criers, newspapers, radio, and community notice boards, and reflected on how storytelling and communication have changed across generations.
The session sparked rich intergenerational dialogues, giving participants the opportunity to connect traditional methods of knowledge-sharing with modern digital tools. By bridging the wisdom of the past with digital creativity, Build-Tech is empowering BBC–CNN (Born Before Computers and Connected New Navigators) storytellers to communicate ethically, preserve cultural narratives, and innovate responsibly.
This program is implemented by @SAYDinitiative with support from @FoundationHadis through funding from LUMINATE.
If you can’t afford Lagos or Abuja, come to Ilorin. It’s very affordable, relatively calm and we’ve got amazing people!
Much better if you’re single, ladies over here are yet to transition fully into the vampire phase you’ve got elsewhere!
