I've been finding it strange how men have been sexualizing women in anime for decades but when women found a way to do something similar with men (BL/Yaoi) they were the quick to start Hating calling it a fetish or something wrong
i think it's best to put it this way: if you went to an art museum or the movie theater and asked to pay the price of one ticket while admitting four people, do you think the staff would allow that? not at all.
1.
Creators set an official price because it is impossible to account for every individual's circumstances in every country. The listed price is meant to provide a consistent standard, regardless of where the creator lives or where the product was made. Just because a product was created in Japan does not mean only Japanese economic conditions should be considered, nor does a creator's nationality determine the official price.
Many people argue that special consideration should be given to countries with weaker currencies. However, unless everyone in the world lives under the same economic conditions, we all inevitably experience advantages and disadvantages based on our local currency value.
I come from a country whose currency is not particularly strong either. When I purchase products other than VP, I often have to accept international shipping costs. If special pricing is given to one country, that can also be viewed as a form of unfairness. People in other countries would end up paying more for the exact same product.
That is why there is always another option available: choosing not to purchase the product.
2.
Splitting the cost of a single VP product among multiple people and sharing it is prohibited by the rules.
For example, if someone cannot afford a game and decides to buy one copy on Steam and share the account with several people, would that be considered acceptable? It is still a purchase, after all. Yet Steam actively discourages account sharing for a reason.
The reason is that once exceptions and workarounds become accepted precedents, they can create larger problems in the future.
People may have many reasons:
"My currency is weak."
"I received a smaller paycheck this month."
"I want to support the creator, but I don't want to spend that much on this product."
The issue is not any single reason by itself. Creators and productions must constantly consider how permitting one exception today may influence future behavior tomorrow.
Everyone has their own circumstances. Creators and production companies do as well.
3.
Some people argue that the creator put a target on the individual by quote-retweeting the original post. Personally, I see it differently.
Creators have a responsibility to manage situations within their communities, establish boundaries, and guide their fandoms back toward acceptable behavior when necessary. I believe that is what happened here.
There are times when creators need to publicly tell their fans that certain actions should not be repeated. Especially considering the possibility that others could exploit the same loophole in the future, it is important for creators to publicly address the issue and ask people to stop.
And frankly, I believe a warning tweet from the creator is far preferable to receiving a formal legal notice from the production company.
It genuinely hurts to see this situation growing into something so much larger than it needs to be.
These are simply my personal thoughts. If you disagree or find my perspective unconvincing, you are free to move on. However, I wanted to speak up because I hope people will stop publicly attacking and condemning the creator over this issue.
I've been busy lately, but I wanted to share my thoughts on the recent situation within FSP rather than posting another tier list.
Without going into too much detail, I have professional experience working for a company that deals with digital copyright. Digital copyright, in particular, is a field where the boundaries can often be unclear, which is why it tends to be handled with great care and attention to detail for both creators and consumers.
These are my thoughts on the situation:
Things I don't debate with men:
• Abortion
• Breastfeeding
• Menstruation
• Female body hair
• Birth control
• Access to menstrual products
Why? Because none of these involve the male body.
