don't let 2026 scare you. you scare it. defy a prophecy. grow a forest inside your house. write something beautiful and unhinged. haunt your enemies. collect even more books. be the unmanageable literary horror you want to see in the world.
The Secret of NIMH (1982) carries a heaviness most animated films avoid. The stakes feel real, the world feels hostile, and the story never reassures you that everything will be fine. It’s that emotional honesty that makes it unforgettable.
The “Baby Mine” scene in Dumbo (1941) is still one of Disney’s most devastating moments. Dumbo reaching for his mother through the bars, her cradling him the only way she can.
@JohnMBrown71 i attempted to fling it out the door once i got to work, but didn’t actually *see* it anywhere outside my car afterwards..
i will likely vacuum it after work tomorrow, it could probably use it anyways!
i thought morning rush hour traffic in indy was bad
driving in it and then finding a BIG WOLF SPIDER CRAWLING/SWINGING AROUND INSIDE YOUR CAR trying to form a web is soo much worse
i love how my apartment complex’s pool closed early last year for “brand new renovations” and has been practically closed all this summer due to various “mechanical issues” and “equipment installations” 🙃
