@mikemovies All classic but The Conversation is the GOAT of the ‘70s paranoia surge.
(Parallax View, Marathon Man, etc)
A. The Conversation
B. Blow Out
C. All Presidents Men
D. Three Days of the Condor
*ATPM is a better film than blow out but I rewatch Blow Out more…
@Metalmike3 It’s solid. But it had so much potential. I wish the production was looser, little fuzzier. But the worst is Brad Wilk on drums. All these legendary doom bands - wilk is a stiff metronome. Needed More natural / less rigid. drummer who did rehearsal/live Tommy Clufetos He killed.
@GigglingGanon Man. Cops are ego driven, fiercely incompetent, willfully ignorant sheep. “They don’t know you”? That is your reason? And that’s acceptable?
@industrypolitic Ice cube 1990 “all I got is hard dick and bubblegum/ just ran out my last stick is where I’m coming from” rip Big L. Jay took 99 and flipped it and talked about the problems not the bitches. But he still should have given props to Ice T. He shouts out Rick Rubin, do it for Ice
@ilyhaden “You have a failed relationship”… they’re in high school. How is that an insult? Lol
Best part is that meaningless cross and “fear of god” apparel while being a terrible human.
@Kil889 Are we just on production? Prince Paul needs to up there with De la soul/gravediggaz. 3rd Bass.
Public Enemy/Bomb Squad.
Illmatic
Sir Jinx. So Cube or KGR.
Preemo.
Lotsa heads in the running.
Run DMC or LL.
@Sollows93@Is_Not_Brian You didn’t invent it either. Dudes been doing stupid ish like this since early 90s
And in the 80s. Just not as frequently as now - all the recording & validation of every individual the star of the show. The show is to go off- go wear a banana suit - but I’m here to vent.
@LASHYBILLS “I can’t fight back” then shut your mouth. Yo a tough guy when the camera’s on + the 70 y.o. gets threatened. But not when he SLAPS (not punches) this arrogant prick. there were 3 of them. If he truly was trying to drown him, inexcusable. But it’s anger in the heat of the moment
@HipHopSince76_ Yoooooo!!!!! One of my favorite joints ever!!! had it dubbed VHS from 90s YO MTV raps. then it wore out. someone posted it on YouTube/ I made playlist of Yo! Videos. years ago, I finally bought the 12 inch single off of Discogs. Thank you for posting this. One of the best.
@A2HHTheGame Both legends. But Pharoah for me. Pun is brilliant with the multisyllabic Ryan. And he’s a good storyteller. So he has dope lyrical dexterity. But with PM you start to get intellectual concepts and insane word play and his taking of one word/ using it in 4 different contexts
