Trump has just announced the firing of 1,300 workers at U.S. DOE, half its staff. This disgraceful decision will effectively gut the agency that manages federal loans for college, tracks student achievement, allocates Title I funds and enforces civil rights laws in schools. (1/2)

Also, we have confirmed with state officials that the state guidance remains in place.

Our schools are governed by the same protocols as before. ICE agents cannot enter our schools without a judicial warrant signed by a judge.

Chancellor Aviles-Ramos told us that the DOE is sending a message to families letting them know that schools remain safe zones.
