@Milajoy I guess you were never taught that “correlation does not equal causation “. Well, stay in school then because it’s never too late to acquire critical thinking skills.
Iran Update Special Report, May 24, 2026: Conflicting US, Iranian, and regional reporting indicates that the contours of a possible US-Iran memorandum of understanding (MOU) remain unresolved and may not yet represent a final agreement.
More Key Takeaways:
Iranian officials, Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC)-affiliated outlets, and Iranian sources speaking to Western and regional media are presenting the possible MOU as conditional on US concessions and continued Iranian leverage.
IRGC-affiliated reporting has identified frozen assets, sanctions relief, the naval blockade, Lebanon, and the Strait of Hormuz as the main unresolved issues. This is every issue in the first stage of the agreement, before talks on the nuclear program.
Mediators appear to be trying to preserve momentum toward a US-Iran MOU by sequencing unresolved issues and developing technical arrangements for the Strait of Hormuz, but Iranian reporting suggests that Iran has rejected efforts to defer its core demands.
Iran appears to believe that it is negotiating from a stronger position than the United States and is accordingly attempting to remake the regional order in a way that benefits Iran.
Iran has not publicly accepted meaningful nuclear concessions in the possible MOU, and Iran believes that the draft defers nuclear talks until after Iran secures relief from military and economic pressure.
Iranian officials have stated that the US-Iran MOU must end the war “on all fronts,” including in Lebanon. The United States supports continued Israeli operations against Hezbollah, however, to prevent threats to Israel.
Israeli officials have reportedly called on the United States to allow the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to continue its operations in Lebanon, in accordance with the current temporary ceasefire in Lebanon, and President Trump agreed with this position.
Hezbollah officials have continuously reiterated that the group will continue to engage the IDF in southern Lebanon and launch attacks against northern Israel until the IDF completely halts its activity in Lebanon and withdraws from southern Lebanese territory. (1/2)
@realMaalouf Probably because they aren’t racist and don’t discriminate against people on the basis of their religion either. That’s a large part of what makes NYC such an amazing city.
@annamlulis@elonmusk Does he allow his employees to do the same. Are parents working for him allowed to bring their children to work with them everyday? Sounds wonderful.
@hobbs1000@mattvanswol So you think MAGA republicans are super nice and sweet towards liberals and generally have no problem being friends with them ??
Really? Let’s see his high school or college transcript then. Trump loves to boast about his accomplishments so I’m sure he would be happy to share those records just to piss off the Libs who think he’s an idiot when he’s actually the smartest man alive. Never mind the Epstein File, please release the Trump Transcripts to silence all the critics who claim Trump is an idiot.
What corruption and waste have they actually eliminated? DOGE wound up costing the government a fortune, not saving anything. Please give me the data that substantiates this post. Also, why are we spending billions $$$ per day fighting an unauthorized forever war in Iran just because Israel asked Trump to do it ??
@AVGirl4Life Why do you think that was the case? Do you think the Republicans party of today is the same as the Republican Party that existed at the end of the Civil War?
Who cares? We don’t do enough to care for the people we already have on this Earth. Why would we want to make more of them ? This is a concern of the 1% because when populations shrink they loose their power. Their assets lose value but the value of labor gains in value. Study what happened in Europe after the Black Death. For the commoners who survived, it was a great time to live and the balance of power shifted in their favor and away from that of their former feudal lords.
