@_is_kunta When I was in Japan and South Korea, I saw men dressing like this, and it was genuinely refreshing to the eyes. The relaxed tailoring, soft colors, and flowing silhouettes that felt both elegant and effortless. This is a beautiful collection.
@_is_kunta I actually think a remix with an UK artist would have been better and expand a market UK/EU where she already have momentum with. I do think the song lacked a memorable hook tho.
@_is_kunta The second nodel looks a bit like Solange with a hint of Vincent Cassel ex wife. This a cute collection and easy to incorporate in everyday wear.
@ourhermitage People always say Beyoncé doesn't know her consumer, but I think that criticism fits Rihanna more. Fenty Beauty was a huge success, but Fenty House failed and Fenty Hair hasn't generated the same buzz. Rihanna's strength is accessibility, that's not an easy jump into luxury.
@ourhermitage Definition of "grand opening, grand closing." I believe the deal was originally intended for Kanye. While I'm not a fan of him personally, I think the venture would have been more successful and had greater longevity with him attached.
@ourhermitage Isn’t this the second lawsuit now? I could’ve sworn they already paid out over something similar before. What’s wild is stories like this never seem to lead to backlash. Her PR/image protection really needs to be studied.
@_is_kunta A couple years ago I traveled throughout Africa and was blown away by how fast some countries were developing. It made me realise how many outdated assumptions I’d unconsciously carried about the continent.
@_is_kunta This is one of the reasons I never take people seriously when they say Beyoncé isn’t a fashion icon. Fashion has always been an intricate part of her brand and artistic language.
I’ve always loved how Beyoncé never spares expense when it comes to her dancers and crew. From designer looks to custom-made pieces, she makes sure everyone around her looks their absolute best too. That level of care is unmatched.
@_is_kunta Personally, I often feel like the clothes wear her rather and sometimes her height and proportions don’t seem fully considered in the styling. That said, I do like that she’s carving out her own aesthetic and doing something different from her peers.
@ourhermitage What I really enjoy about Beyoncé’s work is that some people can simply enjoy the music, while others analyse it through race, feminism, motherhood, and social theory. Very few artists can dominate pop culture while also becoming part of academic and cultural discussion.
