안녕하세요
저는 원주 세모녀 흉기 피습 사건 피해자 가족입니다. 외숙모와 사촌동생들에게 벌어진 일입니다.

언론에서 무시해서 그랬다고 보도했는데… 그건 일방적인 가해자의 말입니다.
외숙모는 목이 찔려 쓰러진 채로 딸들이 칼에 맞는 걸 보다가 기절했고, 깨어났을 때는 병원이었습니다. 어떤 진술을 할 수 있는 상황이었겠습니까…

가해자인 그 16살 남학생은 권투를 했던 아이로 엄청 건장한 체격이라고 들었습니다.
고의적으로 집 앞에서 기다리고 있다가 문이 열리자마자 외숙모의 목을 찔렀고, 외숙모는 두 딸을 살리기 위해 칼날을 손으로 잡아 손가락이 잘렸습니다.

지금 접합 수술은 했지만 신경이 다 끊어져서 손가락을 구부릴 수 없을 가능성이 높다고 합니다.

진짜 외숙모와 사촌동생들이 살아있는 것 자체가 기적이라고 생각합니다.
외숙모는 목이 찔린 채로 쓰러져서 아이들이 칼에 맞는 걸 봤고, 외숙모와 아이들 모두… 평생 이 트라우마를 안고 살아가야 합니다.

그런데 가해자가 16살이라는 이유로, 만 18세 미만이라는 이유로 사형이나 무기징역 선고가 안 되고,
유기징역도 상한이 15년으로 제한되어 있다고 합니다.
15년 후에 나오면 아직 30대입니다.

미성년자라는 이유만으로 흉악범죄자의 형량이 대폭 줄어든다면,
이건 피해자와 그 가족들에게 또 다른 폭력입니다.
최근 촉법소년과 미성년자의 강력범죄가 계속 늘어나고 있는데,
처벌이 약하다는 걸 알고 범죄를 저지르는 일이 더 이상 반복되어서는 안 됩니다.
