Hey guys, I thought I'd bring you an update on my husband (and dog) and their cancer journeys as you have all be so supportive.

Yesterday was a day of highs and lows.

I'll start with the high

The vet called with the lab results from my girls biopsy's on the two lumps removed last week

Both masses were mammary tumours - however - she was confident that all of each mass had been successfully removed and believed that there should be no regrowth. She cited a 90% chance of full recovery 🙌🏼

She's recovered well from the surgery and back to her old self. A hysterectomy was recommended to help prevent future hormonal growths, but we're just delighted she doesn't need treatment for cancer as well.

Now for the low 😥

After seeing an improvement in my husbands symptoms with the steroids post biopsy, over the past couple of weeks his symptoms have been slowly worsening.

His radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment is due to start on monday, but his oncologist asked to see him after hearing of the regression through his nurse.

She assessed him yesterday, including checking his strength. I had to do all the talking as he has now lost the ability to form sentences that make any sense, and cannot write or type more than a couple of words (he still has his faculties about him but there is a disconnect with his brain and his output)

She was very honest with us and told us that she had serious concerns about the fact that his symptoms have worsened before they have even started treatment. She is now unsure whether the tumour has reached the tipping point which will make the radiotherapy ineffective and is questioning the viability of performing the treatment (prognosis on untreated Glioblastoma is grim - thanks grok!)

This was not the news we expected to hear

She eventually made the decision to increase his steroids slightly to see if that helps with symptoms, and because he is still fit, is willing to start the treatment - rather than give up without even trying 🙏🏼 but will monitor very closely as the weeks pass to determine whether to continue (it's a 7 week cycle)

Our plan now is to have an amazing christmas together and to get to the end of this treatment cycle without them pulling the plug.

I know he has the strength in him to do this, and I will be doing everything in my power to get him and our kids through it and then face the next 6 cycles head on

Thank you again to all my incredible @avax family from for being there for me in so many ways and giving ME the strength I need in the dark times to be there for him and my family
