Encyclopædia Strangereal exists to preserve official Ace Combat related material, as well as offering English translations of lost and/or Japanese-only content.
Kouno Kazutoki gave a talk about how he sees Ace Combat as a series a few days ago. This is our annotated translation of some press coverage about it. Nothing groundbreaking, but we thought it'd good context for AC8 when it's actually announced https://t.co/HovonSVSns
"Thank you all for tuning in. I’m so grateful.
As you have seen, we’ve begun on a new project. The next Ace Combat is in production.
Please continue to lend us your support.
Thank you very much.
(It was a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it stream)"

>A tiny team like PA can't keep up, so they're teaming with ILCA, which was founded by Takuya Iwasaki – who worked on AC2, 3, and 4 (they talk about how a bit).
>It'll be nice to have young people taking the lead on the project ("but we're young too, RIGHT?")

(this may come off as worrying to some, but it seems importantly different from the ACAH approach of changing the gameplay loop itself, plus the figures for AC7 show the AC audience is very different in 2021)
At that point, he was worried that just iterating on AC2 would attrit the audience down to the core fans, so he decided to take AC2 and build outward, bringing on Dai Sato, Prod. IG, trying to do a cyberpunk story without falling into 80s cliches, etc.
@Aldo1136 Ah, our workflow is:
1. I do a translation.
2. Another jp speaker gives it a once-over to make sure I didn't do anything stupid.
3. A few other people associated with the site take a look and make any style suggestions.
1 is done, 3 is also actually done, but 2 is pending.
Speaking for myself, I'd have liked to have seen Tsutomu Mizushima and Masato Kanno up on that stage too. They're both quite detail oriented in their own ways and might've had genuine insight into each other's works.
Mostly they just kinda talk about how they like each other's work. They do briefly mention the possibility of an Ace Combat (implied 3DCG) movie in the context of something that would be neat and not out of the realm of possibility, but isn't on the radar at the moment.
Hey, we've got a new Front Line article translation based on the DLC missions! This one's about how the Alicorn ended up in Erusean hands via General Resources, and how GR is slowly expanding to fill a world burning hollow.
It's pretty cool.

New translation over at the blog! This one's Famitsu's summary of a presentation by Kosuke Itomi and Masahide Kitou at CEDC about the tools and techniques they used during AC7's production – especially those related to storytelling.
It's p. neat.
