All OBs, Peds, and Primary Care docs: The best thing you can do for your perinatal patients is to educate yourself regarding risk factors and symptom presentation and provide EVERY SINGLE perinatal woman with a referral to a reputable maternal mental health professional.
Just because a mom or a dad has a postpartum mood disorder it does not mean that:
1 They do not love their child
2 They have thoughts of harming their child or
