As a woman in her 30s, I’ll tell the girls in their 20s: focus on your education, build a career, and get your money before anything else. Everything else will align in time.
Not to sound delusional, but please pray for grace. Life isn't really about hard work. It's more about meeting the right people, grace, mercy, and favour.
Sometimes male anger at ‘women getting special treatment’ reminds me of a gorilla experiment. One gorilla gets a banana every hour. The females next to him get one every four hours. Then someone decides to be fairer and gives the females a banana every two hours instead. The original gorilla? He flips out. He's still getting his banana every hour, but it feels like a loss because his advantage shrank. That's how a lot of men react to basic fairness for women: not as justice, but as theft.
In case you forgot:
We live on a planet where whales sing songs that travel for miles. Where trees can recognize their own offspring and protect them underground. Where dolphins give each other names and where lightning can create glass in the sand. Where horses can read human emotions. Where rain has a smell before it even arrives and where the ocean can glow in the dark. A planet where the stars we see might not even exist anymore.
No, you cannot walk 10,000 steps daily, get 8 hours of sleep, cook every night, clean every day, take care of a family, make time for your own hobbies, and still be productive at work every day. This is not just propaganda, it is nonsense. Free yourself from it.
Adulting advice??? Use your weekend to go out, treat yourself and enjoy being alone. Learn how to make yourself enough for you without needing someone by your side. Make yourself your one and only partner that no matter what will always be there for you.
A boss once told me the reason you’re thinking and waiting is because you’re afraid to do something without mastery. But you can only become a master by taking action and learning from it. So take action faster to become a master
Don’t be lazy in your life
If you have good health, and a functioning mind you can do anything that you have on your goal list
You just have to be ready to compete, and willing to do what is required for that end goal at the highest level of your abilities
Make the choice
according to stoicism, a life wasted by fear, inaction, and doubt is the worst thing you can do. your lack of urgency and imagination is killing your potential.
“I feel like we put way too much pressure on ourselves to succeed in life. In the process, many people lose their friends, their social life, and even themselves. Every single day becomes just about chasing money. No relationships, because we’ve convinced ourselves that love is a distraction.
But that mindset is flawed.
Yes, chase your dreams, build your future, secure the bag.. but don’t forget to actually live. Experience life. Feel love and allow yourself to be loved. At the end of it all, there has to be more than just money.
Let’s not lose ourselves in the pursuit of wealth.”
Time passes anyway. Go to school. Start that training program. The more the merrier. It gives you life experiences. You learn something that you can take into your next opportunity. Anything but idleness.
Outsourcing your errands and tasks to others is something only understood by the rich it seems. Anyone who understands the value of time, would never say something like this btw…
romanticize your life, take pretty pictures, feel like the main character, light up a candle, read books, go for a walk, dance to your favorite music, buy yourself presents, do whatever you want, be happy - this is your life, don't let anyone take it from you
