Our “Relaxation” enrichment days have seen 25 students taking time at the end of a busy year to do a range of chilled-out activities - from crochet to jigsaw puzzles, yoga to colouring, cards games, plate-decorating and everything in between!
Day one of enrichment in Art has been brilliant, we have created design sheets based on the theme of coral and making connections to sculptor Stephanie Kilgast. We have sculpted our pieces using mod rock and tin cans.
These students were the top readers over the whole school year on our newest reading platform - Sparx Reader.
Between these students alone, they have completed over 326,747 minutes (or 5,446 hours!) of careful reading this year.
A massive well done to you all.
As part of their transition day activities, our visiting Year 6s have participated in a performing arts workshop with Mrs Black - they have developed their physical theatre skills, creating shapes and characters, and have worked on a scene from next year’s school show “Oliver!”.
Transition is well underway and yesterday our lovely new year 7 spent a lesson in Art with Mr Roberts-McGurrin creating mono prints using oil pastels. We can’t wait for September to see you all develop your knowledge and skills in Art. Well done all!
A wonderful start to our second Year 6 transition day. The students were in fine voice for their music workshop with Mrs Reardon-Davies, who taught them two songs from next year’s school show “Oliver!”. We look forward to seeing lots of them as Year 7s at the show auditions
Our annual Celebration Evening, prizes were awarded to students in recognition of their academic and extra-curricular excellence, their upholding of our school values, their personal achievements and their representation of Endon High School nationally and in the local community.
Thanks to Kris for coming in today to work with our musicians in a creative session. The group recorded their own original composition, using cutting-edge software to edit their work and discussing their thoughts on the use of autotune and music technology in live performances.
It’s the big Final this weekend… that’s right, it’s the final of “Staffordshire Young Musician of the Year”! We would like to wish our three finalists - vocalist Chloe, drummer Ryan and violinist Ed - enormous luck for their performances.
Each morning this week we have been celebrating our young people who live our school values of Curiosity, Determination and Kindness in school everyday. All pupils have been collecting house points for displaying these qualities throughout the year.
Today we welcomed George from @Carrooka headquarters in Leek who has kindly donated one of their circular pool table boards to our school. We are really grateful that this local small company has done this for the school. Let the flicking begin! #teamendon
