Come and stand in solidarity with the Asian and Asian-American community in grief and outrage.
Some protestors for the “March to End the Madness” demonstration sat in tents at the tailgate fields and chanted for three hours. The group was protesting the City of Bloomington’s treatment of the homeless population.

Again IUPD failed to tell us what policy we’re breaking. Tents go up there every game day! They choose to enforce whatever they want with no accountability.
This sentiment is rooted in anti-homelessness ideology. The university fears the idea of Bloomington’s unhoused population venturing into IU’s gated community
Yesterday afternoon IUPD infringed on our constitutional rights and IU policies by stealing our protest equipment.
They refused to tell us what policies we were breaking. How can we follow the rules if they won’t tell us what they are?
Nevertheless, top IUPD officials came to steal our equipment. And gave their real intentions:
Officer Shannon Bunger said, “we can’t have a bunch of tents popping up”
Superintendent Ben Hunter said, “ya know we have a big game in town”
Cedric Harris, of the Dean of Students office, had already told us earlier that day (while backed by armed IUPD cadets) that we could keep our supply tent, but we’d need to take out the stakes, which we respected.
