For those that aren't aware, I lost my dad suddenly in March. He was by far my biggest cheerleader, for lack of better words and certainly my best friend.
I am incredibly sad he isn't here to see this. But having a strong CSA family behind me has really helped.
Thank you all.
Thank you @esportsawards panel and voters so much for the recognition. We have so many amazing partners & friends in this category and we are truly humbled to be alongside you. This award is absolutely thanks to our amazing CSA family. Below are words from some of them directly!
@SirScoots What’s crazy is you can’t name a current top paid talent who got there by racing to the bottom and undercutting peers. But I’ll also say that this “undercutting” sometimes isn’t that, it’s the excuse used because a TO doesn’t want to hire you. (Not saying that happened here)
@Kevin_Hitt@X Lol, stating X and “rational discussion” in the same sentence is absolutely hilarious man. There is absolutely nothing rational about this platform.
@JoblessGarrett@CryssyTV Exactly. The idea is the program is long term self sustaining since the states gets a percentage back of the appreciation or sale price.
@TheDangerTaco Question: if you acknowledge that it can be counterproductive to call out a company for the practice. Is there any substantive reason to tweet this? Do you see a noticeable necessary improvement to the practice after a tweet?
Don’t take this negatively btw, it’s not at all.
@jfudge@ESL@RollingStone They helped make esports more than just a passion for thousands of people early on, and continue to do so. They deserve their flowers (as well as the obvious bag of cash) for helping do so.
@jfudge@ESL@RollingStone Ignoring any conflicts of interest between RS, Savvy, etc..I enjoyed it overall. There was a time early on when ESL (and ESS/ESEA) was investing in technology and doing things that no one thought possible or cared to do.
@Kevin_Hitt And yes, everyone can track it - are they tracking it effectively, remains to be seen. I think some are better than others. That is certainly not my speciality though.
@Kevin_Hitt For sure. It’s just hard for me to feel bad when they are the reason this problem exists. I don’t think anyone negotiating for players is a master at negotiations. The orgs have willfully threw money around, and now they regret the environment they created.
@Kevin_Hitt Can the same be said about teams getting VC money? Also, can teams effectively say who “brings in” money and who doesn’t? The teams are the ones that caused prices to inflate. It’s not like players or their reps caused this. They threw money like irresponsible lottery winners.
There are plenty of issues with both, “tier one” and “tier two” esport productions & scenes. They are grossly underfunded and YOY every RFP must be cheaper than the next.
However, a shining light to work with through these challenges has been @sapphiReGG@RaidiantGG. Period.
Catch me hosting the All Stars stream with @DannyAarons and the @MicahRichards on the Samsung Odyssey Twitch channel tomorrow, June 13th at 7pm BST!

@GrandmasterGojj I tend to think talent should lead those discussions themselves, and there are plenty of capable voices without me sticking my nose in.
But I’m always here to provide some perspective across titles, communities & experiences.
