British painter and writer who founded the Geographers' A-Z Map Company, Phyllis Isobella Pearsall MBE was born #otd in 1906. Phyllis claimed that creating the map involved waking up at 5am every day to walk 3,000 miles to check the names of all 23,000 streets in London.
