@shadyboho@wil_da_beast630 Probably so. I think society runs better when women act in a fashion that makes them worth dying to protect and when men would rather die than live a coward.
Recent events forced us Japanese to look at ourselves again.
I was born long after the war. I used to pity the kamikaze pilots who threw their young lives away in pointless suicide attacks.
It seemed so meaningless.
But if real enemies came to slaughter our wives and daughters, every Japanese man would be consumed by rage and fight to pilot the suicide torpedoes themselves.
Japanese conversation almost never uses subjects. No 'I'. No 'you'.
We live packed together like ants or bees. The collective β our society, our families β is sacred. We would gladly die as one to protect our children.
Yet Western leftists and socialists don't just tolerate it when immigrants rape and violate 250,000 of their own daughters. They celebrate it. They demand more.
They turned the Paris Olympics opening into a grotesque monster festival.
I feel zero shared humanity with them.
No understanding. No empathy.
They are not like us.
They are aliens wearing human skin.
@EveKeneinan I did the "AI math" on value returned to his investors plus wages paid across his companies and not even counting the value of products delivered he's increased the wealth of those two groups manifold over his own.
@TheLtColUSMC That was me, almost exactly 25 years ago. M Co, 3d Recruit Training Battalion. The Marine Corps demands everything, but it has given me more than I can easily communicate in return.
@infantrydort I suffered a grim moment where I hoped they'd just replace that design with a mountain comprised of every port-a-john and hesco/jersey barrier heaped into a monolith - a sort of Ozymandias for our lost decades.
@BlastingThrough We carry an immortal thing - the lessons we've earned. Passed down from impromptu brothers and fathers, prepared for war and life we're blessed to have learned.
@wil_da_beast630 Unscientific take - I didn't want kids until my relationship was stable and fulfilling and my income ensured they'd come into the world without major problems. I'd bet the social media phenomenon that makes people think they need crazy income to be safe is more to blame.
@stuartscheller Likely going to require foundational change. We select for conscientiousness and by the ~15 yr mark most are tame staff functionaries. That's great for good order and discipline but not the best selector for violence of action.
@OutragedVets@TimOnPoint I'm hopinh USW(P&R) recognize that NCOs being lethal at core MOS skills is a key part of what makes the Joint Force lethal. I'm concerned for senior officers this will get dumbed down to "staff course attendance" rather than "will kill people well".
@CynicalPublius@laraseligman is ignorant here. The Secretary receives promotion lists for field grade and above and must validate and approve before transmittal to the Congress and POTUS for confirmation and signature. This isn't "unusual" - it is his duty under 10 USC 618.
@cremieuxrecueil This appears true and is concerning. Also, I live in a somewhat rural area and planned data centers will make my electricity more expensive unless the legislature creates new billing categories. Some resistance is fake but not all.
@romanhelmetguy What would you call "I'm not touching you, so you can't touch me...and if you do I'll cancel your birthdays"? Like the NAP, but backed by a lot of aggression if required.
