Americans’ electricity bills keep rising, while the additional energy production and transmission capacity needed to reduce costs languish in regulatory limbo. It's long past time for Congress to clear the logjam and advance permitting reform.
"It’s time to pass permitting reform. This is a win for everybody."
@JaneAFlegal and @ppavnr break down BAAJA and make a straightforward case for why clean energy advocates should support this bill.
The permitting bill is harsher on data centers than many people realize — it opens up federal power law to force utilities to charge them more, allows states to discriminate against them, & allows states to make them cross-subsidize other ratepayers. New: https://t.co/DYESZ9mNwW
JUST IN: My desalination bill is one step closer to helping address California’s water crisis, thanks to the work we did @EnergyDems.
We all need water to survive. And it’s not getting easier to find.
So it’s time to innovate. That’s why I’m putting my engineering background to work finding new solutions to get more clean, safe, and reliable water to our communities.
Data centers should not be able to pass their costs on to customers. Our new Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act would make that the law, not a suggestion.
The American people want lower energy bills, and they want more clean energy. Our permitting reform plan gets us a long way toward both of those goals.
Ranking Member Senator Heinrich and colleagues host a press conference to discuss bipartisan legislation to reform the federal environmental review and permitting process. https://t.co/YZlKNItUf5
This National Public Lands Day, get out and enjoy what America’s national treasures have to offer.
Let’s continue fighting to keep public lands in public hands.
We’re focused on getting Americans cheaper energy, good-paying jobs, and responsible growth. To get that right, we need good, strong, legislative text and deliberation.
Our goal is to deliver for Americans struggling to pay their utility bills. And to do that, we must give Senators the opportunity to read and engage with legislation before they’re asked to vote on it. Rushing that process isn’t just unhelpful, it could sabotage the entire effort.
We are talking about major changes to how America builds energy and infrastructure. Getting that right has to matter more than election-year deadlines. We are committed to doing what’s needed to get this across the finish line in this Congress, and we look forward to working with the White House and our fellow Members to do that.
New Mexico is home to America's first designated wilderness area, the Gila Wilderness. This National Wilderness Week, let's remember that appreciation for our public lands is something that unifies all Americans and that our wilderness areas are worth protecting.
New Mexico diesel prices have hit a record high, and gas prices continue to climb.
Families, farmers, truckers, and small businesses are paying the price for Donald Trump’s war in Iran. It’s far past time to end this war, bring down fuel costs, and give New Mexicans the relief they need.

Data Center demand has pushed electricity prices across the nation up. If hyperscalers and other big tech companies need expensive new facilities and more energy, they should pay for it–NOT our hardworking families and small businesses. https://t.co/eVKacHkbJ2
Chris Wright on Fox Business says "thank God we have President Trump with some common sense on energy" as a graphic is displayed showing diesel prices at record highs
Trump says he “doesn’t regret” starting an illegal war in Iran while YOUR gas, diesel, and grocery prices soar.
Hardworking families can’t afford this unnecessary war.

U.S. diesel prices have topped $6 a gallon for the first time ever.
The trucks that deliver your food run on diesel. Just about everything you buy at the grocery store is about to get more expensive.
Our country can’t afford another endless war.
