@Aliceerosee30 It’s such wonderful news Alice. We know that you will be a fabulous EP. You have made a difference here in Enfield and we are so proud of you 😊
5th - 11th of February is Children’s Mental Health Week.
The theme this year is “My Voice Matters.”
We want young people to feel empowered to use their voices and for these to be heard, for example, regarding ways in which their mental health and well-being can be fostered.
The Enfield Educational Psychology Service created a self-help guide for young people aged 11-25 which has lots of useful examples of activities that young people can engage in to stay mentally healthy and look after their well-being.
This excellent guide written by Hannah Baker (2023) explains the science behind self-regulation and gives practical strategies to support the development young children’s self-regulation skills through play. It aligns with the Regulation tier of the ARC Framework used in Enfield.
Great to see that the Enfield Trauma Informed Practice Programme (E-TIPSS) and ARC Framework aligns with new DFE guidance for Early Years providers around supporting babies and young children with their mental health.
Please share & RT @drbeckymorgan's insightful new blog about ways to support autistic girls to thrive in school. With such focus on #AttendanceCounts , understanding and advocating for a compassionate child-led approach has never been so important 1/2 #notaschoolskiver #twittereps
Brilliant for educational psychology to be recognised in the NY Honours List- very proud of our Principal EP Suzy Francis, and of all our colleagues and partners in Enfield who work together to make a difference for our children and families.
Thank you to the Anna Freud Centre for sharing two new videos about emotionally-based school avoidance. Worth a watch if you are interested in hearing a parent’s experience of EBSA and how schools can work with parents and carers.
