Your reputation isn't what you say about yourself. That's advertising and marketing.
Your reputation is what other people say about you.
You earn a reputation through consistent action.
You change a reputation through consistent action.
@david_perell just tweeted @Pixar's 22 rules of #storytelling, which reminded me I picked up a visual representation of the same thing 6 years ago when working with an in-house content team - sharing here in case another format is helpful... π§΅
To manage your emotions you need to be able to recognise them. To recognise them it helps to know their names. That's why we're huge fans of #theemotionalculturedeck by @riderselephants
which helps people 'name it to tame it'. π§ π
If a child can do advanced math, speak multiple languages, and get top grades in school, but can't manage their emotions, practice conflict resolution, handle stress, none of that other stuff is really going to matter. π§
@_FlorianFranco I think it's only cheating if you're repurposing someone else's notes! Sounds like you're just giving more people the opportunity to interact with your thoughts ππΌπ‘
Want someone to change?
Want someone to understand?
Lead with giving. It's as critical for communicators as it is for creators.
Give your time to listening.
Give your attention to focusing.
Give yourself wholly to understanding before advising.
-= How to Give As A Creator =-
The four acts of giving are important for every creator.
Create β Share β Support β Coach
Always lead with giving.

This was supposed to be my Day 2β£7β£ essay for a cohort of #ship30for30 that concluded a week ago. It was an unexpected and uneventful ending for me (certainly not how I imagined it on Day 1!) and I've been thinking a lot about how we set ourselves up for success... or not ππ½
Today marks the start of another #ship30for30 experiment - I thought I'd done my dash but thanks to @dickiebush and @Nicolascole77's power of persuasion I'm back for another round πͺπΌ
If you're interested in emotional culture, communication, and change, follow along... ππΌ
Henry Evans said "a culture of accountability makes a good organisation great and a great organisation unstoppable". What can it do for an online course then?

Such great advice for anyone wanting to influence and lead change - step off the stage and sit with people in their worlds for a while. Not just for five seconds. For A WHILE. ππ½ THEN build a bridge - don't just go back the way you came - and lead them home. #LeadingWithTrust
