These are the people of Iten in Elgeyo Marakwet chanting wantam. Someone tried to sell Ruto and they chanted wantam.
They even refused to take money from him.
FACT: WE ARE KILLING TOURISM IN KENYA
Malindi was once a tourist jewel for Kenya exclusively built by Italians โฆ Then we allowed kiosks & slums all over โฆ Taps ran dry โฆ garbage remained uncollected โฆ. Insecurity gripped in โฆ Italians left โฆ. Malindi died.
Naivasha was once a beautiful tourist resort with many hotels & restaurants ran by English & Dutch people โฆ We allowed kiosks all over โฆ We allowed unplanned buildings ..
The town doesnโt have sufficient water nor sewage system โฆ Europeans left โฆ Naivasha is dead.
Nanyuki & its environs grew to be a beautiful upscale tourist circuit built on the investment of English settlers & the British army โฆ. There was enough money for everyone โฆ Even for the prostitutes โฆ Then we allowed kiosks โฆ We allowed unplanned buildings โฆ We started accusing the British of real & imagined crimes โฆ A very close friend of mine told me his cousin was bitten by a hyena but he sued the British army that he was injured by an ordinance! And he was paid! The British Army will soon pull out โฆ Nanyuki will collapse into a slum!
Show me one tourist town in Kenya that succeeded after Europeans relocated from it.
Look at Tanzania & Namibia โฆ. They are overtaking us in tourism because they have ring-fenced resort sites from kiosks & slums!
One day, tourism will die in Kenya โฆ We will be competing with Nigeria who receives 5,000 tourists a year ..
Or Somalia that receives 20 tourists!
Meru residents send President William Ruto a message during Rigathi Gachagua's visit to Igembe North, chanting "Kasongo Bye Bye!" as they welcomed the DCP leader with a thunderous show of defiance.
KASONGO BYE BYE! Standstill in Meru as residents sing for Gachagua, showing him love and declaring that Ruto is going home next year. The title of the song is "Kasongo Bye Bye" by the Meru people.
@lazarusmkimeu@amenya_nelson Most economic activities supporting locals will die. I bet they use the local cabs the most, curio shops along that Doldol road, restaurants.....
@amenya_nelson Past Isiolo we go through so many military road blocks and we produce our ID's. Our service men are very respectful of you keep it respectful.
