As we approach 2026, the centenary of Queen Elizabeth´s birth, I offer my own tribute to Britain's greatest monarch: A speech by the Queen on her 21st Birthday, 1947 - a dramatic scena for soprano and orchestra.
The headlines have faded, but I have not forgotten.
So I painted her.
In honour of Ann Widdecombe.
“The righteous shall be had in everlasting remembrance”
Psalm 112:6
The late Queen Elizabeth II began her reign this day 74 years ago - 6 February 1952. She went on to become the longest reigning Monarch in British history. Duty and service to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth meant everything to her. Thank you Ma'am. RIP 🎚️
You remember that special speech that Queen Elizabeth made when she was only 21, dedicating her life to service? Astonishing. This is an English composer's reaction, nearly 80 years later. https://t.co/m9rJJPAwhM via @YouTube
@NewCultureForum I am very sad to hear this. Peter was a great warrior and I always hoped to work with him. This is a terrible loss for conservatism in the UK.
