Nigerian banks do VISA cards in minutes
A Nigerian passport in 20 minutes is doable here IF your details are in the system and you pass a simple biometric test
But the Nigerian Civil Servants make their fortune from creating Delay and Scarcity that leads us to Black Markets
Never seen something like this😍 Wallahi, I couldn’t believe my ears. He recites just like Sudais. We may have different skin colors, but Islam unites our hearts. Allahu Akbar❤️
They asked Nafdac DG what she has done since coming in and she flexed with “We paid N3.2b debt” “Our staff now have laptops” etc.
Una go chop poison no be small.
Dora Akunyili ate chicken on TV to reassure the public during the bird flu pandemic. Live and frozen chickens are clearly unbranded. She resisted even the animosity of doctors and the FMOH.
You just told people to go about their criminality provided it’s unbranded. You’ve failed
My first Uber ride in Nigeria in 2014 was in a 2011 Honda Accord.
It was N400. Short trip.
That was $2.40 at the time.
My most expensive Uber ride that year was just a little above N4,000.
About $24.
Anybody who did 10 such trips in a day made a minimum of $240.
With fuel at N97 and 25% platform fee, profit daily was at least $150 before bonuses.
That’s $900-$1,000 profit in a week.
$3,600-$4,000 in a month.
For context, a brand new 2014 Kia Optima or Hyundai Sonata was N5m. And you could pay over 5yrs.
Thats a monthly fee of $490.
Much lower for Cerato or Elantra—about $300-$350.
So with less than a week’s profit from Uber you had your brand new same year sedan monthly financing sorted.
Meanwhile a clean 2010 Corolla was 1.5m.
So paying $370 monthly, you cover the cost of buying it in 2yrs.
Leaving a profit of well over $3,000 monthly to split between you and the owner, and you take the car after 2yrs.
Now you understand why so many middle class people were buying clean cars and putting them on the road as Uber.
Now you understand why they can drinks and sweets and were so clean.
Some were even top cars like Benzes and Highlanders.
And everyone wants to suddenly act like going from buying fuel at less than N100 when the minimum wage could buy 3 bags of rice to buying fuel at N,1500 when the minimum wage can barely buy one bag, and when the cost of the same 2010 Corolla despite going from being a 4yr old car to a 16yr old car is x5 the cost it was when it was a 4yr old car, would not torpedo the entire business model.
If Uber were making N200M MONTHLY in 2014, they were making FAR MORE THEN than if they are making N200M WEEKLY TODAY.
N200M a month then—$1.2M monthly.
N200M a week now—$571K monthly.
First, they start denying hadith. You quote the Prophet, and they say they don’t believe the hadith is authentic. Some even use the word da’if, hoping to impress or bait the ignorant into thinking they know what they’re talking about. That’s the first step.
Then they grow more comfortable and begin questioning the established interpretations of the Qur’an.
I’ll never forget a session at Kabafest where inheritance was being discussed. One woman argued that, since times are changing, scholars should revisit the Qur’an and Hadith to see whether the established interpretations could be revised so women receive the same share of inheritance as men.
The greatest Muslims are those who say, ‘We hear, and we obey.’ That is why we are slaves of Allah.
A LESSON FOR ME FIRST, AND THEN FOR YOU
IN THIS SHORT CLIP; A young Muslim boy was riding his bicycle and mistakenly hit a parked motorcycle. The owner wasn’t there. The impact removed a small part of the bike.
The easy thing? Ride away.
Nobody saw him. Nobody would probably question him. But this boy did something powerful. He got down. Picked up the detached part. Tried to fix it. When he couldn’t, he waited. And when the owner arrived, he confessed. Not only that, he brought out money from his pocket and offered it for repairs.
This video reminded me of something that happened to me years ago in Malaysia during my PhD.
A Nigerian colleague of mine, of Igbo origin, I think Dr. Aja, had parked his car at our postgraduate workstation. A Muslim lady accidentally scratched it while reversing. She couldn’t find him. So she left a note with her phone number, apologizing & offering to pay for the damages.
The next morning, we called her. She came; deeply apologetic, insisting she must cover the cost.
We were shocked. We thanked her for her honesty. She looked surprised and said, “Why are you thanking me? That’s the right thing to do. Everyone should do that.”
For her, integrity was normal.
For us, it felt exceptional.
That is what proper upbringing does. That is what faith, when truly internalized, produces, a conscience that works even when no one is watching.
The Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi Wa sallam taught us that part of excellence in faith is to worship Allah as though you see Him; and even though you do not see Him, to know that He sees you. That consciousness shapes character.
Honesty is not about being caught. It is about being accountable. How many times have we walked away because “nobody saw”? How many times have we excused small wrongs because they were convenient?
This young boy on the bicycle delivered a khutbah without words.
Character is what you do when you can escape.
Integrity is admitting fault before you are accused.
Faith is returning what is not yours; even if no one would ever know.
May we raise children who choose truth over convenience. May we become adults whose conscience is alive. And may we normalize doing the right thing, not because it is rare, but because it is who we are.
Ameen.
The average dumb Nigerian thinks US will organize military operation & destroy boko haram, bandits & the Tinubus, Wike, Akpabios for them. By the time they start dropping bombs, not a single politician or their families would be there, it is you on your way to buy Garri.
Most of you supporting this so called “Christian Agenda” because you don’t like Tinubu, I want to tell you what you don’t know, you are giving the west what they desperately need, “A Reason” to destabilize Nigeria. If you think this is the kind of politics you want to play, think again......
If this goes bad it means there will be ‘a reason’ to no longer be supply us necessary ammunitions to fight insurgents they sent to Nigeria, which automatically means if they are killing 2,000 innocent people now, it will be atleast 10,000 when we don’t have weapons to fight back, Nigerians both muslims and christians will be killed more. When we weaken our supply lines, when we provide an excuse for foreign powers to step in, we create the conditions for escalation.
Before you know, they will send their troops into Nigeria in the name of “trying to help”, further cause more commotion, in no time Nigeria will be a failed state, then boom we are another Sudan, Libya or Syria, you won’t have a country to call your own simply because you don’t like who is the president now..
Foreign interests rarely act out of selflessness, they act where there is advantage, whether strategic access, natural resources, or geopolitical positioning. Giving them “a reason” is handing them permission to meddle, to back groups, to choke logistics, to turn local grievances into international crises. Politics is not a game you play with the country as the stake.
I will pick Tinubu over the West 1000 times. I would rather live with a president I disagree with than hand my country to outsiders who will strip us of everything.
If you truly care about Nigerians both muslims and christians, if you really love this country, then think beyond party, beyond grievance, and refuse to be the pretext for our destruction.
