My revert to Islam story. I met my wife in Turkey in 1996 and we married in 1997. Neither of us was religious at that time. Fast forward about 10 years. My wife started to become interested in her religion Islam. In about two years she realized that it was a sin to have married a Christian, much less stay married to a Christian. So she was begging me to revert to Islam. I had no idea what Islam was about and I was thinking that I needed to convert her to Christianity. As I was in the military I was set to go on a deployment to Qatar. We made each other a deal. I would read the Quran and she would read the Bible. We both did. My plan backfired because the Quran was so amazing and pure and without contradictions. My wife found the Bible very confusing and full of contradictions. I told my wife, let me re-read the Bible. Over six months I re-read the Bible, but after reading the Quran it read so different. So, then I re-read the Quran. After two years of wrestling with my inner conflict. I realized I can't deny the truth. So, in Rapid City, South Dakota at a Ramadan Iftar meal; I took my Shahada in 2009. I have been progressing as a Muslim ever since. Studying Hadith and Sunna. I went to Umrah once. Can't wait to go again. Allahu Akbar Islam is Beautiful.❤️
