@adesina_adele We arent doing adamu orisha play..it is not a traditional festival here in iperu,it is a cultural festival.. No doubt,Lagos have preserved & elevated Eyo into a well-known traditional festival today. But that does not erase the presence of its earlier cultural expressions elsewher
@adesina_adele That freedom of cultural display is what later became structured and formalized in Lagos into what is known today.Kindlyake your research well
@adesina_adele Eyo in Iperu is a cultural festival, while Eyo in is a traditional festival.
Many younger people in Lagos today only know Eyo through the as it is celebrated in Lagos, and so the broader cultural background is often overlooked. In Iperu, we are not Adimu Orisha
@adesina_adele We do not operate under the strict traditional rules and hierarchies associated with the Lagos structure. Our Eyos move in procession, they display, they entertain, and they freely engage with guests. That was the original expression of the practice here.
