Ekiti is THINKING FORWARD—and boldly too.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji @biodunaoyebanji is charting a new course for education and innovation in Nigeria with the launch of the first-of-its-kind Robotics Academy in Southwest Nigeria.

@oprahayo On expansion plans the Ministry is planning to have innovation labs and clusters across the state that will become a hub for such activities and more. Once we have that, we can then make sure that these communities are included in the plan.

But before then, little steps…

@oprahayo And what this means is that we are giving them skills that even current university students and graduates are learning, and I believe that once they can grab this early, the opportunities are endless.

@oprahayo On Eligibility, all public and private primary and secondary schools students in Ekiti are eligible.

For the second question, The pilot phase has shown us that the curriculum is very valid, we already have primary schools students at the least coding and building.

Yesterday, I had the honor of hosting a delegation from Innovate UK @IUK_Global , a leading organization driving innovation and technology advancement. Led by the Head Global Alliance, Nee-Joo Teh @neejooteh , the delegation included African Lead Jon Barrow and Nigerian Country Lead, Joshua Adedeji @joshuaadetayo1 . This visit marked a significant milestone in the partnership between Ekiti State and Innovate UK, highlighting the immense contribution of Innovate UK, through the UK International Development, in supporting the innovation ecosystem in Ekiti State.
