The 'behaviour crisis'
I too have seen a post COVID deterioration in behaviour in schools (particularly secondary).
My thoughts and some strategies/mindsets I have found useful...
*Trigger warning, ref to suicide.
Accountability/responsibility in education is often applied in this order (top being the most):
Teacher
Parent
Student
It should go:
Student
Parent
Teacher
And until we sort that, many of the problems we have will continue to worsen IMO.
@CeriStokes@educationgovuk Yes. But has to be realistic time scale. Iโve seen two week phases return/part time timetable implemented and it isnโt enough. Too much too soon. Iโve seen a few comments here about half a term and this is what has worked for me previously.
Last week I said goodbye to my lovely Y11 cohort. I have been their HoY since Y8 and formed such a wonderful bond with so many of the pupils and their families. This card really got me. โค๏ธ
