flight attendant heard me go "oh fuck yeah I love those cookies" when I went to the bathroom but the flight was too bumpy for service. during landing she walked up and said "you liked the cookies, right?" and handed me this. I hope Melissa at American Airlines has a nice night.

& another thing.. I had to learn to stay away from the ppl who made me MEAN or CRAZY or VERY REACTIVE bc l've come to realization that, that's not me & that's not who I wanna be so if you bring it up out of me I gotta dissociate from you! l gotta go.
I like CALM men. Men who don't shout or break things when they're mad. Men who tell you exactly how they feel. Men who communicate. Men who talk to you in a gentle, soft and low voice telling you what made them mad or what you did wrong, but never blame you or disrespect you >>
It took me years to finally be able to share publicly that I was born with Sickle Cell. Over the last 2 years I have spoken about this disease during my performances but I realise that more needs to be done.
Every year over 100,000 children are born with Sickle Cell in Nigeria alone. Sickle Cell has no cure, it is highly under researched because it largely affects West Africans.
This weekend was very emotional for me, met children living with the disease, spoke with parents who are finding it hard to cope amidst the economic crisis in the country.
Thank you to @samiupdate and @sicklecellfoundationng for the work you are doing.
I am inspired by the touching stories and encounters I had last weekend and I want to ensure that all the independent organisations doing the vital work, outreach and research needed to fight Sickle Cell receive the resources and support that they desperately need.
To my Champions, if I can do it, you can do it too.
